Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes returned to action with Portugal on Monday against Bosnia and Herzegovina in a Euro 2024 qualifier.

Portugal led by Roberto Martinez’s side had already qualified for Euro 2024 but remained fierce, taking the lead after just five minutes through a Cristiano Ronaldo penalty.

Ronaldo scored his second goal 15 minutes later, chipping Joao Felix’s intricate pass over Ibrahim Sehic to double the lead.

After the second goal, Fernandes made it three by controlling Goncalo Inacio’s through ball with his chest before hitting an unstoppable volley into the top corner from inside the box.

The Red Devils captain also created an assist for a sublime Joao Cancelo finish, cutting it to the edge of the box for the Barcelona man to curl into the top corner.

Cancelo’s club team-mate Joao Felix made it five with a well-taken goal on the stroke of half-time.

Fernandes was later replaced after 79 minutes of impressive game.
