Man Utd and Atalanta reach agreement for striker
Manchester United are now close to welcoming a new striker at Old Trafford after they finally reached an agreement with Atalanta for Rasmus Hojlund.
Atalanta are also preparing for life without Hojlund as he was left out of the Serie A team’s squad that faced Bournemouth in a pre-season friendly on Saturday.
The Red Devils will pay an initial £64m plus up to £8m in add-ons for the highly sought-after striker.
Man Utd have already reached a personal agreement with the 20-year-old, who will sign a five-year contract with the option of an extra year.
Once the deal becomes a reality, Man Utd would have spent a total of £179m this summer, having signed Mason Mount from Chelsea and Andre Onana from Inter Milan.
The Red Devil had to focus on signing Hojlund as their No.1 target after it became clear they would not be able to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham, who valued the England international at £100m.
