Rashford’s future is under intense speculation, with the 20-time English champions receptive to substantial offers for the English forward.
The 26-year-old, who was omitted from the England squad for Euro 2024, had a challenging season, scoring only eight goals and providing five assists in 43 appearances during the 2023-24 campaign. This was a stark contrast to his 2022-23 season, where he netted 30 goals and registered 10 assists in 56 matches, leading to a long-term contract extension in summer 2023.
According to Football Insider, United may part ways with Rashford later in the transfer window if they secure a high-profile replacement.
Paris Saint-Germain has shown interest in Rashford as they seek a replacement for Kylian Mbappe. Although Arsenal has also been linked, a domestic transfer appears unlikely due to United’s reluctance to strengthen a rival.
Rashford’s form dipped last season, with only seven Premier League goals and a lackluster Champions League performance. Off-field issues, including controversial nightclub visits and subsequent absences from training, have further complicated his standing at the club. His relationship with manager Erik ten Hag reportedly strained, although ten Hag continued to support Rashford publicly.
Manchester United are linked with several forwards, including Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee and Lille’s Jonathan David. Zirkzee, who scored 12 goals last season, has a release clause of just under £34m. David, with 26 goals in all competitions, is also on United’s radar, alongside Chelsea’s interest.
Additionally, Juventus has reportedly offered Federico Chiesa in a swap deal for Mason Greenwood.
Securing a new striker is a priority for United, especially with Anthony Martial’s departure leaving Rasmus Hojlund as the sole first-team forward.
