Man City plans to keep Chelsea target
Chelsea may have suffered another transfer blow as their bid to resign Nathan Ake from Man City may have been blocked.
This comes as the reports revealed the Citizens are keen on keeping Ake at Etihad stadium next season.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Pep Guardiola doesn’t have any reason to part ways with the squad member unless his conditions are met.
The report claimed that City will demand £50m if Chelsea formally expresses a desire to sign the Netherlands international.
Apart from this, Guardiola would only agree to the sale if there is a worthy replacement for the versatile 27-year-old.
Currently, Ake falls behind Ruben Dias, Aymeric Laporte and John Stones, limiting him to 21 appearances last season.
Chelsea are in the race to sign new players having seen some of their senior players leave this summer.
It appears the number of hierarchy changes may have stalled the club’s transaction in the transfer market.
With the club’s new co-owner Todd Boehly now taking on the interim role of sporting director, the Blues may soon complete their first signing.
