Liverpool to battle Chelsea, Manchester United and Real Madrid for Rennes midfielder
Liverpool have probably joined Chelsea, Manchester United and Real Madrid in the race to sign much-desired Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga.
The French international burst onto the scene under Julien Stephan a year ago and remains a regular for Les Rouge et Noir, scoring one goal and one assist more in 30 Ligue 1 appearances this season.
The 18-year-old’s current deal at Rennes terminates toward the end of the 2021-22 season, and he has allegedly concluded that he won’t extend his contract, so an extraordinary bidding war for his services is presently expected to initiate this summer.
As per The Express, Liverpool have now recognized the youngster as an ideal player for the new season, as Georginio Wijnaldum’s approaching departure toward the end of the season inches closer.
The report adds that Liverpool would need to fight off Chelsea Manchester United and Real Madrid for Camavinga’s signature, however Jurgen Klopp will want to lure the Frenchman to Anfield with the guarantee of regular first-team action – something he would not be ensured of at Stamford Bridge, Old Trafford or the Bernabeu.
Chelsea are thought to be keen on a deal for Camavinga, who scored his first goal on his first start for the French national team in October’s 7-1 friendly thrashing of Ukraine.
