Former Chelsea coach among favourites to take over at Leeds United
Former Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has been lined up as one of the favourites to take over at Leeds United.
Lampard emerged as the top contender to replace Marcelo Bielsa at Leeds United, according to Sporting Life reports.
This comes as Bielsa has come under intense pressure following Leeds Utd performance the last week as they suffered three successive defeats for the first time this season.
They lost to Chelsea in a 3-2 scoreline before they suffered a shameful 7-0 defeat against Manchester City.
Over the weekend, they were defeated in a 4-1 scoreline by Arsenal.
Their performance has seen them drop to the 15th place on the EPL table with just five points above the relegation zone.
Bielsa has battled with a number of injuries, which include significant absentees like Kalvin Phillips, Patrick Bamford and Liam Cooper.
He would hope many of his key players are back to the team ages of their trip to Anfield to play Liverpool on Boxing Day.
The reports claimed that if the results don’t improve vs Liverpool, the club will sack him and then bring in Lampard as a replacement.
Lampard has been out of managerial duties since his sack at Chelsea in January 2021.
