Chelsea were another club who returned to action on Saturday after the international break as they made a short trip to the King Power stadium to play Leicester City.

Former Chelsea star Joe Cole in a reaction to the match singled out Nigeria international, Wilfred Ndidi, who he slammed over his reckless tackle on Cole Palmer during the Blues’ 2-1 win over Leicester City in the Premier League on Saturday.

A highlight from the match showed a reckless tackle from behind that saw Ndidi catch Palmer on the Achilles heel.

The Nigerian star’s trailing left foot also cut Palmer down, causing the Blues to show their displeasure.

Ndidi’s action saw the referee show him a yellow card immediately.

Cole while on punditry duties on TNT Sports, Cole said via Daily Mail that if VAR was ever going to step in for reckless endangerment of a player, Ndidi’s tackle was a terrible one.

“This is a game Leicester were miles off it and at the height of their frustration. He’s lost his rag,” Cole said.

He added that Ndidi should have been sent off as he nearly scored the equaliser.

Cole noted that if Ndidi had played a part in getting the Foxes back in the game, Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca would be furious.
