January transfer: Chelsea defender returns
Chelsea defender Zak Sturge is back at Stamford Bridge from his loan at Peterborough United.
Sturge’s return to Chelsea comes amid the ongoing January transfer window.
The Blues also confirmed the defender’s return in a statement via its website on Tuesday.
Recall that Sturge moved to Peterborough United last summer for his first senior loan experience.
During his time at Peterborough, he made 15 appearances in all competitions for the League One side.
Sturge signed a deal with Chelsea from Brighton and featured regularly at the PL2 level before moving to London Road at the start of the season.
There are no details yet to know if Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino will feature him in his squad this second half of the season.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are taking time in this transfer window to get quality players that can help turn their unfortunate form around.
