James returns from injury to score against Bournemouth
The Premier League returned on Tuesday night with Chelsea hosting Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea managed to split points with Bournemouth as the game ended with a 2-2 draw.
However, the Blues captain Reece James stole the spotlight as he marked his Premier League injury return by scoring a 95th-minute equaliser against Bournemouth with a free-kick.
Reece has missed 21 matches with hamstring injuries this season, managing just five Premier League appearances.
The English defender was excited after his free-kick hit the net as he was seen punching the air and roaring with delight in the aftermath while England manager Thomas Tuchel watched on from the stands.
James’ performance at Chelsea has been affected by his repeated hamstring issues over the past few seasons.
Since his appointment as Chelsea captain at the start of last season, he has started just eight top-flight games.
His last league appearance had been an eight-minute cameo against Arsenal in November. James’ last goal for the Blues came against Italian side AC Milan in October 2022.
Recall that the England international returned from his latest two-month setback over the weekend when he played 45 minutes against Morecambe in the FA Cup.
Hopefully, he would make another appearance for the Blues in their next match against Wolves.
