Former Newcastle United star, Alan Shearer has sent a message to Chelsea on a new striker to sign this summer.

Shearer advised the Blues to sign a ‘big name’ striker that can play alongside Nicolas Jackson.

According to the former football star,  Jackson is not ready to be a guaranteed starter for the Blues as they prepare to compete next season.

The advice comes after Jackson led the West London club to defeat Nottingham Forest 3-2 in the Premier League at the weekend.

Shearer while speaking via Match of the Day said Jackson’s performance has been inconsistent this season as there were times he would be at top form while other occassions he would fail to impress.

The former Newcastle star who said Jackson is a raw talent acknowledged that he has the potential to be big, who would learn better when the Blues bring in a more experienced player.

Shearer believes the Blues need another number 9 as he urged them to make moves for one in the summer window.
