Italian side sends clear message to Chelsea over pursuit of their star striker
Serie A giant Inter Milan has sent a strong message to Chelsea over the pursuit of Belgium international Romelu Lukaku.
Chelsea have been linked with their former player as they plan to strengthen their side after winning the UEFA Champions League last season.
The blues are reportedly not confidence of landing Erling Haaland this summer as Borussia Dortmund are not willing to let go of their best striker.
However, the blues have now suffered another great loss in the pursuit of Romelu Lukaku as Inter have told them that the striker will not be sold this summer.
Inter Milan’s CEO Beppe Marotta has warned Chelsea against making an offer for their former striker as he noted that a deal is not possible.
When asked if Inter can rule out Lukaku’s departure, Marotta told Sport Mediaset that from their side Lukaku is not for sale.
According to Marotta, Lukaku is an important piece on the chessboard available to Simone Inzaghi who replaced Antonio Conte during the summer.
Chelsea will be forced to look elsewhere for a striker as they are still linked with a move for Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane.
