Hudson-Odoi opens up on what Boehly told him before he left Chelsea
Chelsea star Callum Hudson-Odoi in a recent statement has opened up on what the club’s owner, Todd Boehly told him before he departed Stamford Bridge on loan over the summer.
Hudson-Odoi said the American billionaire gave him assurances about his long-term future at Chelsea.
This comes after he had struggled to secure regular game time under Thomas Tuchel and was keen to leave to get more playing time.
Hudson-Odoi went on to move to Bayer Leverkusen on a season-long loan in the closing stages of the summer transfer window.
The winger in his statement claimed that Boehly is keen to have him back at Stamford Bridge next summer.
“It’s definitely different,” Hudson-Odoi told MailOnline of the new Chelsea regime.
“When a club is trying to get a player [on loan], they always want that option to buy at the end of the season. Todd was saying: ‘Listen, we want you back here’.
“You’re still on the radar of being wanted by the club. The way he’s trying to set it up, there are a lot of young players he’s trying to buy for the next few years.
“It shows he wants to integrate the players into the team and help them develop.”
