How much Chelsea will get for winning the FIFA club world cup
Chelsea emerged the winner of the FIFA club world cup on Saturday after they defeated Brazil club Palmeiras in a 2-1 scoreline.
In the latest statement, the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) has revealed how much Chelsea and other clubs would get for participating in the tournament.
According to FIFA, it will pay Chelsea $5 million for winning the FIFA Club World Cup ahead of Palmeiras on Saturday.
FIFA will also pay Palmeiras $4 million for losing the Club World Cup final to Chelsea and Al Ahly $2.5 million for winning the third-place final (Bronze medal), according to Sporting News.
Chelsea beat Palmeiras 2-1 on Saturday night at the Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, to win their first FIFA Club World Cup.
Romelu Lukaku scored the first goal in the match before Raphael Veiga scored an equaliser for Palmeiras as both teams played a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes.
But Kai Havertz netted a late penalty in the second half of extra-time to ensure the Blues victory in the tournament.
In another report, Al Ahly defeated Al Hilal 4-0 in the third-place final tie earlier on Saturday.
