How Chelsea will play out for Pochettino

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville in a recent statement has said Chelsea will have a “very good season next year” under their incoming manager Mauricio Pochettino.

It is no longer news that Pochettino has reached an agreement to become the Blues’ next permanent manager.

The Argentine is expected to replace Frank Lampard, who is currently in the role temporarily at the end of the season.

Pochettino will begin work at the West London side on May 28, after Chelsea’s final game of the season.

The former Tottenham Hotspurs manager will, however, take over a team that will not be playing European football next season, which might give him enough time to rebuild.

“I always thought if Chelsea brought in Pochettino and refined the squad a little, they could have a very good season next year.

“Pochettino will not take a job if he doesn’t think there’s huge potential there.

“He obviously thinks he can get Chelsea back to the very top of the league,” Neville said on Sky Sports.
