How Chelsea striker won league title despite playing for only 8 mins
Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang despite his current club’s poor form this season managed to get a league win to his name.
This comes as Aubameyang was recognised as part of La Liga champions Barcelona’s title-winning squad even though he joined Chelsea in the last summer transfer window.
Barcelona were handed the Spanish La Liga title on Sunday after a 4-2 win at Espanyol.
Aubameyang was part of Xavi’s side at the very start of the season before he joined Chelsea and came off the bench for a late cameo in their opening game against Rayo Vallecano.
In the English Premier League, players need to have made a minimum of five league appearances to be considered a member of the title-winning squad.
This, however, doesn’t apply to clubs in Spain and other parts of Europe, which means Aubameyang’s eight minutes game for Barca are all he needed to be crowned a champion this season.
