How Aguero snubbed Chelsea, Arsenal for move to Barcelona

While Argentina international, Sergio Aguero has agreed on a new deal with Spanish club, Barcelona and would be joining them from Man City in July.

The reports have revealed that Aguero has opportunities to remain in the premier league as Chelsea and Arsenal made moves to bring him over.

Aguero became a free agent this season after spending a decade with the Citizens, he however chose to sign for Barcelona.

This was made known by Aguero’s father, Leonel Del Castillo.

“He is happy right now after signing for Barcelona. I see him happy.

“He didn’t know what was going to happen with his future. There were several clubs interested in signing him.

“Arsenal were interested in him and Chelsea to the last minute.

“If he didn’t stay in England, it was going to be Italy or Spain.

“He’s been friends with Lionel Messi since they were 15 and they’ve always talked.

“It looks like Messi is going to stay at Barcelona so they’re going to play together,” Del Castillo told Radio La Red.”

It would have been a big blow on Man City if Aguero had gone ahead to join Chelsea which defeated the Citizens in the UEFA champions league final a few days ago, perhaps he chose not to remain in the EPL out of respect for the Citizens.
