Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has applauded Anthony Martial despite their 3-1 defeat to Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday.

Ten Hag hailed Maritial’s performance despite a largely forgettable day for the Frenchman.

Recall that the Red Devils were downed to 3-1 vs the Gunners despite them taking the lead in the first half.

Fans of the two clubs were walking out of the Stadium, believing it was ending as the clock ticked past 90 minutes, before goals from Declan Rice and Gabriel Jesus’ goals won all three points for the Gunners.

Martial, who was largely anonymous in the game, was replaced by debutant, Rasmus Hojlund in the 67th minute.

The Dutch gaffer spoke about Hojlund’s performance and also hailed Martial.

“I think he played very good but I also think Martial had a good performance.
