He will benefit more: Chelsea’s target told to remain at Everton
It is no longer news that Chelsea are in the race to sign Anthony Gordon from Everton and to achieve this they are willing to pay as high as £60 million for him
Reacting to the Blues’ move for Gordon, former Liverpool midfielder, Danny Murphy, has advised the Everton star to stay put at Goodison Park this season.
Anthony is keen on moving to Stamford Bridge where he can get a chance to play in the Uefa Champions League.
Murphy in a statement said he is very impressed by the Toffees’ 21-year-old, who he considers a brilliant prospect.
He, however, believes Gordon will benefit more at Everton than at Chelsea.
“I completely understand the interest,” Murphy said on talkSPORT, “I think he’s a brilliant prospect.
“He’s got lovely balance, two good feet, very courageous on the ball, goes hunting the ball down to make things happen.
“That’s a real trait in a young player, especially in an Everton side last year struggling.
“I think, for the lad, he will benefit more from playing another year at Everton, definitely.”
