Havertz shows class as powerful Chelsea thrash Crystal Palace

Kai Havertz delivered his best display in a Chelsea shirt but as the Blues recorded a convincing win over Crystal Palace.

With their West Brom heavy defeat behind them, Chelsea set about destroying Crystal Palace from the start. Kai Havertz won the ball back in a perilous territory prior to getting the ball back inside the space.

Playing as a false nine, the German added truly necessary goals to his game by wonderfully curling a low strike past Vicente Guaita and into the base corner.

Havertz was vigorously involved and afterward turned provider for Christian Pulisic to rifle home his third league goal of the season.

Any expectations of an Eagles rebound were dashed when Pulisic scored his second of the match.

Substitute Reece James twisted a prodding delivery that Cahill couldn’t deal with it. His minor touch couldn’t redirect the ball from Pulisic who committed no error from five yards.

Havertz kept on threatening the Palace backline with astute movement. However, for an absence of definitiveness in front of goal, the German could’ve had four.

In the end Havertz had to settle for one as Chelsea cruised to a comfortable 4-1 win
