Guardiola singles out 3 Man City players for praise after draw Vs Arsenal

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola in a post-match statement hailed three of his players following their impressive form against Arsenal on Sunday.

Guardiola mentioned Rico Lewis, Manuel Akanji and Rodri were unbelievable during their encounter against the Gunners.

The Citizens and the Gunners got a point each at Etihad Stadium after the match ended in a goalless draw.

Speaking after the game, Guardiola said as quoted by Man City’s website:

“Rico, Manu, Rodri were unbelievable. The second balls against Arsenal are really important.

“The chances they have in first half, they press really well. In the second half, I couldn’t expect more.”

He added: “I recognise the intention we had. We take the point and in nine games we see what happens. The only thing we can do is to refresh mind and legs and go into Aston Villa.”
