Great signing: Chelsea hailed over new striker

Former Chelsea striker, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, has hailed the Blues for their moves for Barcelona star, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Blues were able to complete their deadline move for Aubameyang and Hasselbaink believes he is a great signing, who will score goals for Thomas Tuchel’s side.

Chelsea were desperate to sign a new striker before the summer transfer window shuts following the departure of Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku.

According to the details of the agreement, Chelsea paid £12million and also give Barcelona Marcos Alonso, who has been pushing for a move all summer to complete a move for Aubameyang.

Asked about Chelsea’s deadline-day swoop for Aubameyang, Hasselbaink told Sky Sports: “He’s someone who will bring goals and we know he can handle the pressure.

“He’s played for big clubs: Arsenal, Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund. Chelsea need a number nine, an out and out number nine, and that is what he is.

“I think if you can sign him for the next couple of years, it’s a great signing. A great signing.”

The new striker could make a debut for Chelsea against West Ham this weekend.
