German coach reportedly turns down Chelsea job following Frank Lampard sacking

It’s no longer news that Chelsea are not just in the transfer window for players but also for a coach that will lead the team throughout the rest of the season.

Frank Lampard’s time at Chelsea was cut short some hours ago when the club announced that they are parting ways with their former player.

The English trainer has failed to convince the board and Chelsea fans with his performance and they’ve deem it fit that a change is needed.

Top managers have been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge to replace Frank Lampard but Ralf Rangnick has reportedly declined the opportunity to take over.

Ralf Rangnick has been linked with the job as Chelsea are reportedly willing to give him a chance as an interim manager till the end of the season

However, according to Sky Sports reporter Alan Myers, Rangnick who most recently spent time in charge of RB Leipzig in 2018-19 has rejected the offer.

The 62-year-old is not willing to take a short-term job at Stamford Bridge and Thomas Tuchel who was sacked by Paris Saint-Germain remain the favourite to be announced as blues manager.

Lampard’s record of 1.67 points per game for Chelsea remains the fourth-lowest of any permanent Blues boss in the Premier League era.
