Frustrating: Chilwell reacts to Chelsea’s defeat vs Nottingham Forest
Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell has reacted to the club’s latest defeat to Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues suffered their first home defeat of the season against Forest as a strike from Anthony Elanga after half-time was all the visiting team needed to secure all three points.
Chelsea had 21 attempts on goal in contrast to Forest’s seven attempts but Chilwell in a post-match statement said bettering an opponent’s statistics doesn’t always convert or equal three points.
‘Very frustrating result and everyone if very disappointed in the changing room right now. If you look at the stats we dominated the game, had the possession, but the most important stat is the goals. We lost in that department and lost the game, that is the black and white of it and we need to improve,’ Ben said post-match.
‘Mistakes are part of football, and it is about how you recover from those mistakes and try and get back into games.’
