Former Premier League star slams Lukaku

Former Premier League forward, Paolo Di Canio in a statement has lashed out at Chelsea loanee, Romelu Lukaku.

He cited Lukaku’s poor record in crucial games, adding that the Belgian star flopped in big games for the Blues.

Lukaku forced a move from Chelsea this summer and is currently on loan at Inter Milan.

This is coming just a year after the Belgium international re-joined Chelsea from Inter Milan last summer for a club record £97.5m, only to move back to the Serie A giants on loan.

“Romelu Lukaku flops in crucial games,” Di Canio told Sky Sports Italy.

“It’s not an opinion, it is a fact. It’s what he showed in his seven-year spell in the Premier League,” he said.

With Lukaku out of Chelsea, the Blues have now signed Raheem Sterling from Man City, who is expected to come in as a replacement for Lukaku.

Another report revealed the Blues are still in the race for Robert Lewandowki, who they also want to sign this summer.
