Former Chelsea striker contract terminated by Spanish club

Chelsea hope of having a reunion with former striker Diego Costa during their Champions League round of 16 clash with Atletico Madrid have been dashed as the Spaniard contract has been terminated.

Diego Costa was a big fans favourite during his time at Stamford Bridge but was allowed to leave when he fell apart with Antonio Conte who was the Blues manager back then.

The 32 years old has not been having a good season as he has been injured for most part of the season and the arrival of Luis Suarez from Barcelona has seen his game time limited.

Ahead of the summer transfer window, Atletico Madrid has announced that Diego Costa’s contract with the Spanish giant has been terminated due to personal reasons.

The La Liga table toppers made this known via their social media platforms as they thanked the striker for his performance on and off the pitch ever since he joined In 2017-18 season.

Diego Costa will now be eager to rejuvenate his career at another European club with Arsenal who are currently going through a tough time tipped as his next destination.

The former Chelsea striker scored 19 goals in 81 appearances in all competitions for Atletico Madrid before his deal was terminated.
