Former Chelsea star linked to Barcelona

Spanish club Barcelona manager, Xavi is set to make new additions to his squad this summer transfer window.

The recent reports have linked Xavi with a move to sign former Chelsea and Southampton midfielder Oriol Romeu for Barcelona this summer.

Recall that Romeu, 31, moved to Girona from Southampton last summer but could play for a top European club like Barcelona next season if the deal finally happens.

The former Chelsea star started his career with the Catalans, before moving to Stamford Bridge in 2011.

During his two seasons with Chelsea, Romeu won the FA Cup and the Champions League title.

He then completed a switch from Chelsea to Southampton where he played for seven seasons.

Popular football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano in a statement revealed Romeu is done with his medicals at Barcelona.

What is left is for him to complete the transfer is to get the contracts signed, with the deal expected to be completed this week.
