Former Chelsea star hails Jackson’s performance Vs West Ham

Former Chelsea player Mikel Obi in a recent statement applauded Nicolas Jackson’s performance in the Blues 3-0 victory over West Ham United during the weekend.

Jackson’s performance against the Hammers earned positive reviews from many including his critic Obi.

Recall that the Senegal star scored a brace and also recorded an assist in the game as Chelsea won three points.

Mikel, who had publicly berated Jackson over the Blues’ defeat to Manchester City, in his recent comment stated that the Senegalese was getting better with every game.

“Nicolas Jackson wants the best for Chelsea Football Club,” Mikel stated in an episode of the Obi One Podcast shared on Monday via YouTube.

Referring to Jackson as an absolutely fantastic player, Mikel said it’s amazing to see that he’s improving with the way he scored the two goals against the Hammers.

Mikel added that his previous criticism was meant to help the player improve, saying, he was not in on putting anyone down or criticise the players.

Meanwhile, Jackson could be rested when Chelsea take on Barrow in the EFL on Tuesday night.

Manager Enzo Maresca had revealed in a pre-match statement that he would rest some of the players while giving chances to others to start.
