Former Chelsea midfielder speaks about new competition at Man Utd

Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount has reacted to the club’s summer signings.
So far Man Utd have signed Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha in the final third of the field and Mount believes it would create competition.
Mount, who signed for Man Utd from Chelsea, will fight for regular starts in the 2025-26 season, with Mbeumo and Cunha’s arrival at Old Trafford.
There are speculations that Mbeumo and Cunha will be in the Red Devils’ starting number 10s in a 3-4-3 formation.
However, Mount believes he has what it takes to make manager Ruben Amorim consider him in his first team.
“It’s competition,” ESPN quoted Mount as saying.
“When you’re at a club like Manchester United, there has to be that competition there to perform and as a group we want to win and we’re all in that together,” he added.
Mount also stated that the club would be working together to compete next season.
Man Utd will be focused on returning to the top four and winning trophies next campaign, after they struggled last season.
The Red Devils ended the season sitting outside the top ten on the Premier League table.
