Former Chelsea midfielder extends deal at Arsenal
Former Chelsea and now Arsenal midfielder Jorginho has extended his contract with the North London club.
Recall that the 32-year-old penned an 18-month deal with the Gunners when he joined them Chelsea in January 2023.
His extended contract is described as a “short-term deal” by the club.
So far this season, the Brazil-born Italy star has made 35 appearances in all competitions with one goal to his name.
Expressing his excitement after extending his stay at Emirates Stadium, Jorginho said he was happy to stay, because it’s a privilege to be a part of the Gunners.
The football star who spent four and a half years at Chelsea before his transfer to the North London club said Arsenal are in a “special moment” under Mikel Arteta.
Reacting to the new deal, Areta described Jorginho as an important part of the Gunners team, a role model with great leadership skills and a unique playing style ability which made everybody better around him on the pitch.
Meanwhile, Arsenal will return to action in the Premier League when they take on Manchester United at Old Trafford on 12 May, before playing against Everton at Emirates Stadium on the final day of the season on 19 May.
