Former Chelsea manager says Lukaku doesn’t look fit
Former Blues manager Glenn Hoddle has said Belgium international Romelu Lukaku doesn’t look fit.
This comes as the Blues prepare to face Real Madrid in the UCL tonight.
Glenn urged the Belgian striker to look himself in the mirror and see how he could get better.
Recall that Lukaku returned to Stamford Bridge from Inter Milan for a club-record £98 million in the summer of 2021.
He started the season well, scoring four goals in his first four appearances under manager Thomas Tuchel.
However, the Belgian performances since then have not been impressive.
Speaking about Lukaku, Hoddle told Sportsmail: “The missing piece has nothing to do with Tuchel, it has nothing to do with how Chelsea plays. He has got to look at himself in the mirror.
“He’s got to look at himself in the mirror and say I have got to get the best out of myself. He is no way near the player he was since he had that interview. Since he had that injury.
“I don’t know if he is fit enough. He doesn’t look really lean and fit to me. Maybe he has worked on the wrong things. He may have worked hard, but he may have worked on the wrong things.”
