Former Chelsea manager linked with return to Juventus

Former Chelsea and now Tottenham Hotspurs manager Antonio Conte has been linked with a return to Italian club Juventus.

Conte has been tipped as one of the managers to replace an underperforming Max Allegri, who has come under intense pressure in Turin, following a shock 1-0 defeat to bottom team Monza last weekend.

Aside from the defeat in the Italian domestic league, Juve have also lost both of their opening group fixtures in the Champions League.

The Old Ladies are currently seated at the eighth spot on the Serie A table after two wins from their first seven matches.

If Allegri were to be sacked, Conte is one of the favourites to replace him at Turin, according to reports in Italy.

As of now, Conte is yet to extend his contract with the Hotspurs beyond next summer.

Under Conte, Tottenham have remained unbeaten so far in the Premier League and only a point off leaders Arsenal.

Nonetheless, Conte could still leave for Juventus if the opportunity comes as he had previously said he has “unfinished business” in Turin, and is believed to be Juventus director Pavel Nedved’s number one choice to replace Allegri.

Conte was at Juve between 2011 and 2014, where he lifted three Serie A titles before he fell out with club chief Andrea Agnelli after feeling he wasn’t backed in the transfer market.
