Chelsea may have reasons to be worried as their former defender Marcos Alonso has been linked with a return to the Premier League.

The recent report disclosed that Manchester United are making moves to Alonso as part of their plan to bolster their manager Erik ten Hag’s squad this summer transfer window.

At the moment, Alonso is available as a free agent after he exited Spanish side Barcelona this summer following the end of his contract.

A report from The Mirror disclosed the Red Devils want to strengthen their left-back options this summer and have named the 33-year-old on a three-man shortlist of targets to help solve their problems at the back.

Aside from Alonso, Man Utd are interested in moves for Feyenoord’s David Hancko and Crystal Palace’s Tyrick Mitchell.

However, while Hancko has been linked with a move to La Liga side Atletico Madrid, the deal has reportedly stalled.

Italian club AC Milan are also said to have their eyes on the Feyenoord star.

Mitchell, on the other hand, could be available at a cut price owing to the fact that he is set enter the final 12 months of his contract at Crystal Palace.
