Former Arsenal star sends strong warning to the Gunners latest signing
Arsenal have finally gotten their hands on Ben White but their former player Stewart Robson has sent a strong message to the England international.
Ben White finally completed his big-money move to The Emirates from Brighton and Hove Albion last week and this move brought smile to the faces of Arsenal fans.
The England international have been linked with a move to other Premier League side and Arsenal won the battle by paying a transfer fee of around £50m.
Former Arsenal star Robson has not warn Ben White that he will need to step his game up and perform well regularly for Arsenal because he isn’t “proven” yet.
Speaking to ESPN FC, Robson said of the transfer that it’s certainly a lot of money.
Robson stated that if you’re going to bring in someone like Ben White, he’s got to be the leader, he has to be the main player.
The former Arsenal star noted that he’s not not sure Arsenal see him like that as he keep reading that Arsenal believe he has great potential, he will be a top-class defender.
However, Robson insisted that if you’re paying £50m, he’s got to be your main man, he has to be your leader and he’s got to be a good defender.
Robson added that Ben White had a good season at Brighton and an even better one at Leeds but it’s a lot of money to spend on a player who he would say isn’t proven yet.
White could make his Premier League debut for Arsenal when they take on Brentford in their season curtain-raiser on 13 August.
