FA Cup: Pochettino share details on meeting with Chelsea players, staff Vs Man City
Chelsea will be playing in the FA Cup semi final this weekend when they face Premier League champions Man City.
The Blues head to the game after their recent victory against Everton in the Premier League on Monday.
Ahead of the faceoff, manager Mauricio Pochettino in a recent statement said he held a discussion with his entire squad and staff to remind them of the importance of discipline.
This comes after the unusual clash between Chelsea players over a penalty kick in the 6-0 win over Everton.
While Cole Palmer scored four goals in the match, Conor Gallagher had to push Nicolas Jackson and Noni Madueke away as the duo fought over a second-half penalty.
Gallagher then gave the ball to Palmer, the club’s designated penalty taker.
Pochettino in a pre-match statement confirmed he spoke to the entire team ahead of this weekend’s FA Cup clash with Manchester City.
“I made it clear after the game. We had a meeting with players and staff; also involved were the sporting directors [Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley] and I explained my feelings and the way they are going to act in the future if something like this [happens].
“Now we need to move on; they are clever and understand the situation. We were talking a lot after Monday. Wednesday, Thursday and today, still because we were practising penalties,” Pochettino told the press.
