Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has been named the Premier League’s Barclays Manager of the Month award for October.

This comes as Howe led the Magpies to five wins and a draw from six matches in the top flight as won 16 of the 18 points available.

Newcastle United scored 15 times in those games, and conceded three times, to make it to the top four on the EPL table.

As of now, the Magpies are 3rd on the log and have also moved to the next round in the Carabao Cup.

Howe won the award ahead of Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta and Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, who are both seated at the first and second spot on the EPL table.

This is the fifth time that Howe has won the award, and his second as Newcastle United manager.

Speaking to Sky Sports on Friday, he said: “For me, really the award is for the team – the team of staff and the team of players. I’m delighted to collect that for them.”
