EPL: Kepa and Jorginho update vs Newcastle United
Chelsea manager Graham Potter has given an update on goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga and midfielder Jorghinho ahead of their Premier League clash vs Newcastle United.
Unlike Cesar Azpilicueta who made the Spain squad, Kepa was not included as he has been out with a plantar fascia problem in his foot.
Potter was asked if he knows whether the goalkeeper would have been called up by Spain had it not been for the injury.
‘I have no idea,’ responded Potter, ‘but he’s not training so it’s not possible.’
In the case of Jorginho, who was absent during the Blues’ recent defeat to Man City in the midweek, due to a foot problem, Potter revealed the Italian trained with the rest of the squad and could get a chance to play against Newcastle United.
‘Jorgi trained today,’ reported Potter,
‘so providing there’s no reaction he should be in the squad [for Newcastle]. There is nothing else to report in terms of returnees.’
