EPL: Every game for us now is a final – Lukaku sends warnings to Man City and Liverpool

Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has sent a warning to Liverpool and Man City after the Blues weekend win over Aston Villa in the EPL.

Lukaku, in a post-match statement, stressed that Chelsea are the hunters now in the race for the Premier League title for this season.

Recall that Belgian striker scored a goal during Chelsea’s 3-1 win over Aston Villa and also paved the way for the third goal.

Following the outcome of their match vs Aston Villa, Chelsea are now close to regaining their spot at the top of the league as they are currently at the same level on points with Liverpool, who have a game in hand, and six points behind Man City.

Lukaku added every match Chelsea would play after their win over Aston Villa till the end of the season would be taken as a final match.

Speaking to Sky Sports after his side’s win over Aston Villa, Lukaku said about Chelsea’s title race: “We are the hunters now. The last results for us were not the best, and now we have to chase [Man City and Liverpool].

”Every game for us from now until the end of the season is a final; you have to treat them like finals because every game in the Premier League is very difficult. But today, we won, and now we have to push on and keep chasing.”

He added: “Today we had to do a job; we had to win the game. Aston Villa were doing really well in the last couple of games, credit to Steven Gerrard and his staff and their players; they have a really good team, and it wasn’t easy for us.

“Now we have to push on and make sure that every game is a final. Win, and that’s it.”
