EPL: Conte says exchange between him and Tuchel not important
Tottenham Hotspur manager, Antonio Conte, in his post-match statement refused to speak on his exchange with Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel, during and after their 2-2 draw on Sunday.
One of the highlights from the match saw the two managers nearly come to blows after Emile Hojberg scored an equaliser for the Hotspurs, cancelling out Kalidou Koulibaly’s opener.
Following the end of the game which ended in a 2-2 draw, Tuchel held onto Conte’s hand firmly and muttered swear words, as the two men were separated.
During his interview with the media, Conte chose to reflect on the draw at Stamford Bridge, than talk about his clash with Tuchel.
“In my opinion, it is better to talk about the game. The game was an exciting game, a difficult game for both teams. We want to be competitive in every game. Chelsea showed us today how to be a really, really good team but we did better than last season.
“I don’t want to comment as it’s not the most important thing. If there is a problem, it’s not between me and him, it’s for the others.
“We are here to speak about football, not what happened between the coaches,” Conte said.
