Done DEAL: Penarol star dismissed Lyon move to join Premier league giants
Facundo Pellistri has uncovered that he dismissed the opportunity to join Lyon in the last stages of the summer transfer window so as to complete a move to Manchester United.
The teenager officially joined Manchester United from Penarol on transfer deadline day, signing a five-year contract at Old Trafford with the choice of an extra a year.
The 18-year-old has been included in Manchester United’s Champions League squad for the group stages of the competition and is accepted to be in the first team plans of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The Uruguayan has said that Lyon endeavored to sign him this summer however he was unable to turn down the chance to join Manchester United.

Facundo Pellistri played on 37 occasions for Penarol’s first team from 2019 and 2020, scoring two goals and four assists the process.
Manchester United new number 28 arrived at the club for a fee of around £9m.
