Done Deal: Chelsea completes deal for Monaco defender

Chelsea are set to welcome a new defender in the ongoing January transfer window as a new report revealed they have finally sealed a transfer deal of around €38m with Monaco for their Benoit Badiashile.

Badiashile was in the news a few days ago after he underwent his medicals at Chelsea ahead of his official unveiling as a Blues player.

This report was also confirmed by transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, in a tweet via his Twitter handle on Thursday.

“Understand all documents have been finally signed for Benoît Badiashile to become the new Chelsea player. The official statement, next step,” Romano tweeted.

“Badiashile already completed medical tests in London earlier this week. The deal is 100% sealed. AS Monaco will receive around €38m.”

Chelsea have keen on moves for a left-footed centre-back since the end of last season and opened talks over a move for Badiashile last December.

Hopefully, their new defender would help them strengthen their back-line this January as the west London club push for a return to the top-four in the EPL this season
