Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen has responded to growing speculation linking him with a potential £51 million summer move to Chelsea, stating that he is “really happy” at the club and not currently focused on his future.

The 20-year-old has had a breakout debut season in the Premier League, quickly establishing himself as one of Europe’s most promising young centre-backs. His reputation soared further after a standout performance in Bournemouth’s 2-1 win over Arsenal on Saturday, where he scored a key equaliser at the Emirates Stadium.

Huijsen, who previously played for Juventus and Roma, has become a cornerstone in Bournemouth’s defence. With the Cherries currently eighth in the table, they will be aiming to finish the season strongly in their final fixtures against Aston Villa, Manchester City, and Leicester City.

Unsurprisingly, Huijsen’s consistent performances have drawn attention from Europe’s elite. Clubs including Real Madrid, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chelsea have reportedly been tracking his progress throughout the season. Recent reports have suggested that Stamford Bridge could be his most likely destination, with Chelsea eager to strengthen their backline.

However, Huijsen has played down the transfer talk. Speaking after the Arsenal match, he said: “I’m really happy here. I’m not really thinking about the future right now. I just want to help the team finish the season as strongly as possible.”

His comments suggest he remains fully focused on his current role at Bournemouth, despite mounting interest from top clubs.
