Deal Completed: Chelsea to sign Premier League midfielder after Rennes star deal

Frank Lampard is lining up Declan Rice as Chelsea’s last business of the summer transfer window.

Chelsea have had a striking transfer window up until now, completing exciting deals for seven new stars, including Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Ben Chilwell and Kai Havertz.

The Blues have also acquired Thiago Silva on a free transfer just as Malang Sarr and Xavier Mbuyamba.

A goalkeeper is their first concern, with dealings progressing to bring Edouard Mendy in from Rennes for around £30m.

However, even after that they intend to test West Ham’s purpose over Declan Rice, with the Chelsea academy graduate idea to be a decent choice to play at centre back.

Sky sports transfer expert, Angelo Mangiante, claims Declan Rice will be Chelsea’s ‘last target’ after a deal is completed for another goalkeeper.
