Deal CLOSE: Bundesliga playmaker only desires Chelsea move

Germany playmaker Kai Havertz clarified that he wanted to leave Bayer Leverkusen this summer and that Chelsea was his favored destination.

Furthermore, talks between the clubs stepped up a pace a week ago when they entered what we are told were the ‘final negotiation’ stage.

The ensured payment of around €80m was a point conjecture during the discussions. However that figure has been a piece of the deal for quite a while – as conversations over the idea of the add-ons that would complete the agreement that were talked about.

Bayer Leverkusen clarified that they were interested to get the move concluded before their players reported back to training on August 28. With the time frame on this deal continually pointing towards agreement being reached at this week.

Kai Havertz is set to return from his vacation and Chelsea are interested to get him ready for their pre-season training program, all that is left currently is the ink to dry on his Chelsea agreement and his first official photographs in a blue shirt.
