Deal Agreed: Man Utd accept deal to sign new goalkeeper
Man Utd have reportedly agreed to a new deal that could see them bring in a new goalkeeper in the summer transfer window.
The report has identified the new goalkeeper as Tom Heaton.
This is coming weeks after the Red Devils have been in talks with Aston Villa whose current contract will end this summer.
This means he would be moving to Old Trafford on a free transfer.
According to the Mirror UK, Heaton will move to Man United as a free agent as his contract at Aston Villa expires this summer.
The former English goalkeeper is expected to bring quality back-up and competition for Man United’s keepers as they already have David de Gea and Dean Henderson in a fierce battle to be the club’s number one shot-stopper.
Heaton has been at Aston Villa for two years, however, he lost his place as the club’s number one keeper to Emiliano Martinez.
According to record, Heaton began his career at Old Trafford where he signed as a trainee in 2002 and made a series of appearances for the Red Devils’ youth teams before eventually joining Cardiff City on a permanent deal eight years later.
