Chelsea’s Kante named the most influential midfielder in the EPL

Former football star Joe Cole has named Chelsea midfielder and France international N’Golo Kante as the most influential midfielder in the EPL.

This comes after Kante’s performance during the Blues 2-0 win over French side Lille on Tuesday night in the UCL.

While the duo of Kai Havertz and Christian Pulisic scored one each to secure the victory for the Blues at Stamford Bridge, Kante was the brain behind the second goal scored by Pulisic and Cole believes no midfielder has performed better than Kante in the EPL in the last ten years.

“I don’t think there’s a midfielder as influential as him, certainly in the last 10 years, in our league, an all-around midfielder,” Cole said according to Metro.

“What he did at Leicester and what he’s done at Chelsea… everything he does.

“When he plays well, you win.”

Chelsea will now focus on their next game, which is against Liverpool this weekend in the Carabao League final.

The Blues will hope to pick up the second trophy this season by defeating the Reds at Wembley on Sunday.
