Chelsea’s Mykhailo Mudryk Branded a “Disaster“ Nearly Signed for Arsenal

One of Chelsea’s most high-profile signings, Mykhailo Mudryk, has been labeled a disaster and in an alternate scenario, he could have been playing for Arsenal instead.

In 2023, Chelsea outbid their London rivals to secure Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk in a £62 million deal, with an additional 27 million in potential bonuses. Despite making just 44 appearances for the Ukrainian club, his performances were impressive enough to earn him an eight-and-a-half-year contract at Stamford Bridge.

Initially hailed as a major coup, Mudryk’s Premier League career has since struggled to take off. Though he showed promise with a lively debut against Liverpool prompting Rio Ferdinand to suggest Arsenal might regret missing out his form has since been inconsistent.

Arsenal had been confident of securing Mudryk’s signature in the summer of 2023, especially after he dropped several hints on social media about his interest in joining the Gunners.

However, Chelsea swooped in with a last-minute offer, leaving Mudryk reportedly devastated as his dream move to the Emirates fell apart.

Now, with his future at Chelsea uncertain, the winger faces mounting pressure to justify his hefty price tag and revive his Premier League career.
