Chelsea tipped to sell Kepa
Chelsea’s number one goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga could leave the club in the summer as the Blues are planning to bring in a new goalkeeper and trim their wages.
A report via Football Insider revealed the Blues could consider moves for Kepa in the summer as they are currently on the search for a new goalkeeper.
Chelsea have splashed millions on new players in the last two transfer window since Todd Boehly’s takeover and they are still keen on making a new addition to the squad.
With Edouard Mendy now allowed to leave Chelsea this summer as he is battling with game time in the Blues squad, the Blues have been linked with moves for Robert Sanchez as a replacement.
While this suggests that Kepa’s place in the squad could be safe, the report, however, insisted that the club could evaluate the 28-year-old first-team star situation and possibly look to sell him as well.
Kepa’s contract doesn’t expire until 2025 and the Blues are unlikely to extend it.
Other goalkeepers on Chelsea’s target list are Illan Meslier, Brentford’s David Raya, Dortmund’s Gregor Kobel and Atletico’s Jan Oblak.
