The latest report has claimed that Chelsea have targeted Brighton defender Adam Webster.

While Chelsea have been able to reach a new agreement with Brazil star Thiago Silva on a short-term contract extension, they could, however, see Antonio Rudiger, Cesar Azpilicueta and Andreas Christensen leave at the end of the season.

The reports have revealed that the Blues are working tirelessly to get the three defenders to sign a new agreement at the club before their contract run out in the summer.

Matthijs de Ligt and Jules Kounde have been mentioned as possible targets, and The Mirror now claims that Brighton’s Webster is a candidate to join the Blues ahead of the 2022-23 season.

So fat this season, Webster has only started 13 Premier League games due to injury but has helped Brighton keep five clean sheets, as well as scoring two goals in his last three games against Chelsea and Watford.

Aside from Chelsea, Newcastle United are also said to be interested in a move for Webster, whose contract with Brighton does not expire until the summer of 2026.
