Chelsea star unsurprised by youngster starring role for his country at Euro 2020

Chelsea star player Mason Mount has revealed that he’s not surprised with the performance of Billy Gilmour during England’s meeting with Scotland at the ongoing Euro 2020.

England faced Scotland in the second match of the competition, and Billy Gilmour took centre stage.

Billy Gilmour was voted man of the match after putting in an impressive performance that made sure Scotland keep alive their hopes of qualifying from Group D.

The 20-year-old left out of the side first match has now been receiving massive accolades from fans and pundits.

Speaking to the press after the match, Mount stated that Gilmour never surprises him, but he knows what he is like as a player.

Mount noted that they had a good battle, and every time he plays, he seems to get the man of the match he has done the few times he played at Chelsea.

The England international added that Gilmour gets chucked in at the deep end sometimes, and he is always swimming.

Mount then noted there he has always watched Gilmour development, and he is going to keep getting better and better, and that is good for him personally, for the club and also at the international level.
