Chelsea star tipped to be a fine addition to squad
Former Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand is rooting for Chelsea star Christopher Nkunku who he said would make a fine addition to the Blues squad.
Nkunku moved from RB Leipzig in a £52 million deal last year and has had to endure a tough start at the Blues, due to injuries that have kept him on the sidelines.
The France international underwent knee surgery soon after joining Mauricio Pochettino’s side and didn’t make his debut for them until December during an EFL Cup tie.
However, Nkunku is again set to be out for a while due to a recent hip issue.
“Nkunku will come good. I watched him play a lot in the Champions League. Proper player,” Ferdinand said (h/t The Chelsea Chronicle).
Last season, Nkunku emerged as the German Bundesliga’s highest goal scorer.
But with his injury episodes, it would be hard for him to replicate the same in the Premier League.
